Great skiing for beginner and intermediate skiers, and for groups of families and friends.

Most skiing in Livigno revolves around the three main areas and their respective networks of interconnected lifts: the Mottolino, Costaccia and Carosello 3000. The ski pass gives visitors access to a modern network of ski lifts which include all these areas plus the snowparks at Mottolino and Carosello 3000. The Costaccia ski area which interlinks with Carosello 3000 and the Mottolino ski areas. The area boasts an excellent mixture of pistes to suit all abilities including off-piste skiing with a guide and Europe's largest snowpark.

Wide pistes make Livigno a good place for novice snowboarders, but also presents ample challenges for the more experienced.

Excellent for beginners. There are baby lifts at the bottom of every main ski area on a gentle gradient which prove re-assuring for both adult/children beginners and nervous skiers/boarders. Button lifts (which can be departed from at any point on the mountain) can also be found along the valley. Extensive number of blue runs.

Excellent for intermediate skiers. There is an abundance of long, wide slopes on all ski /board areas which are great for both boosting confidence and improving performance. Extensive number of red runs.

Good for advanced skiers. For advanced skiers and boarders, the Mottolino snowpark is one of the biggest in Europe and has boxes, rails, different sized jumps, boarder-cross, a car and a huge half-pipe. There are also a variety of natural jumps and half-pipes on the slopes, a challenging mogul field and a selection of black runs. Advanced skiers can also take advantage of other near-by resorts including St. Moritz, Bormio, Santa Caterina, Davos etc.

Ski lessons are offered for 2 hours every morning and are limited to 6 guests per instructor. All ski instructors are qualified and highly experienced!

In addition to comprehensive lessons and ski guiding for all levels we also offer the 'Livigno Snow Challenge'! This is a fun and rewarding challenge to ski every piste in Livigno in one day! A printed record of the kilometres covered is presented to skiers before departure.

Instruction, Courses & Ski Safari

We guarantee beginners will NOT be stuck on the nursery slopes but will progress on a day to day basis through an enjoyable, engaging and methodical course structure using all slopes around the resort that are suitable to your level.
People staying two weeks have the option to advance to the Easy Carve Ski Course in the second week. Chat to our resort team if you’d like to explore this option.

Fortunately, Livigno is particularly well geared for families of all ages, as it boasts a number of kindergartens, snow & fun parks, and dedicated ski lessons for children. The Après Ski (after ski) activities will form an important and fun part of your holiday. This is the opportunity to soak up the village atmosphere, get to know some of the locals and generally eat, drink and be merry. And not necessarily in that order...! Our recommendation: Head for the live music bars Kuhstall and Miky's Bar for a night to remember!

Welcome drinks at Livigno's most popular live music bar! Nikki & Rob invite all their guests for a glass of bubbly and canapes at the 4 star Hotel Bivio (Kuhstall pub). With live music and even more lively atmosphere it is a great way to start the week and an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about Livigno!

6km Toboggan Run

Ride down the mountain on a traditional wooden Livigno sled. Definitely a winter experience you shouldn't miss during a visit to the Italian Alps.

Yeti Trek

Join local mountain guide Epi for a unique trek off-piste with snow-shoes. Explore some of Livigno's back-country through powder terrain stopping in a secluded mountain hut originally dating back to when the first settlers arrived in Livigno. Livigno 'Fat Bike' Tour

Our team in Livigno are the only company in the village offering this tour! Join Adam, our fully-qualified British/Italian mountain guide, on your Fat Bike (mountain bikes especially adapted for winter resorts) and enjoy a stunning tour under the stars on the snow! Refuel with a tasty pizza before the thrilling descent back to the town centre. Open to anyone over 1.50m in height. This tour is a superb way to experience the 'real' Livigno with a local and offers great photographic opportunities.

Snowmobiles and a Traditional Mountain Feast with Live Music

Blast across Livigno's frozen lake, through the woods and along the river aboard your very own 500cc snowmobile before sitting down to a traditional mountain feast in our secret hunter's lodge. The meal includes a platter of local cold meat and cheese starters followed by two traditional pastas, a large mixed grill of pork, lamb and venison (both vegetarian and fish alternatives are available). If you have any room left a platter of desserts are on their way! Wine, coffee and grappa are also all included for the duration of the meal as is live music. Don't forget your dancing shoes! A fantastic experience suitable for any age.
Tuesday evenings from 18h30 onwards.

The food in Livigno is outstanding and reflects the board Italian passion for good cooking. There are over 100 restaurants and cafes and snack bars to choose from, which coupled with the tax free status of the village, makes for comparatively affordable eating everywhere. Budget meals range in price from €5 to €10, mid-range meals cost €10 to €20, and a more expensive meal will cost you €20 to €30. It’s important to remember the following:

a) Sitting down to eat at a bar or cafe will attract an additional cost that can almost triple the cost. Welcome to Italy! Rather stand or take your order ‘to go’ and save on your bill.
b) While service charges are normally included in your restaurant bill, it is customary to leave a token of your appreciation.

Bars open at about 08h00 for coffee and brioche, which is the typical local breakfast.
Restaurants generally open at 12h00 for lunch and again at 19h00 for dinner.
Alcohol is served at any time.

With so many great places to choose from it’s very difficult to make recommendations. However, here are a couple to consider for good local/regional food: Ristoro Fopel, Ristoro Val Alpisella, La Calcheira, Bivio Cantina, Ristoro Val Alpisella, La Tea da Cip e Ciop.
Drop us a note for a full list of recommended eateries - we would be delighted to recommend a different restaurant for every night of the week all of which are exceptionally well-priced due to the resort's tax-free status.

The history of Livigno’s unique duty-free status dates back to 1805 when Napoleon granted Livigno exemption from excise duties. As a result, a wide range of goods are available at discounted prices. Fuel, for example, is almost 50% cheaper in Livigno than elsewhere in Italy; while prices of ski and board equipment, cigarettes and tobacco, alcohol, perfumes, jewellery, cameras, electronic goods, leather garments, etc. are all significantly reduced.

To take advantage of this duty-free haven and stretch those Euros a little further, Livigno boasts over 250 shops encompassing brand name shops like Timberland to sports stores and quaint traditional boutiques selling local wares.

Shops generally open from 10h00 to 12h00 (when they close for lunch) and again from 15h00 to 19h30.

Aquagranda Active You is one of Europe’s largest wellness complexes. It's divided into various zones where you can find fun for all the family and lots more, sliding in the Slide & Fun area, relaxation and wellness in Wellness & Relax, sports training in gym and pool in the Fitness & Pool area and all the experience of doctors and health professionals in Health & Beauty.

Day Trip to St. Moritz! This world-famous Swiss ski resort is the birthplace of Alpine winter tourism (1864). St. Moritz is a high-altitude resort (1800m) with an excellent snow record and glacier skiing and is also regarded as Switzerland's sunniest spot with over 300 days of sunshine per year!
Livigno Ski Pass holders (week passes only) receive 50% discount on a one-day ski pass in St. Moritz.
If you prefer to take in the scenery, which is spectacular, then watch the professionals in action on the Cresta toboggan run, take a leisurely stroll around the lake along the walking paths, go ice-skating in the Ludains Ice Arena, take photos of the leaning tower with an inclination of 5.5 degrees, visit the Heidi hut which was the original hut used during the shooting of the famous Heidi stories by Johanna Spyritake and finally enjoy high tea at Confiserie Hanselmann.
